A LITTLE SPRING RAIN (WITH FLOWERS) IN VICTORIA

While it isn't as warm as we would like right now, the weather is typically so mild in Victoria that really what do we have to fuss about!  I'm sharing a little corner of our front garden, for some reason the deer and fawn have left the tulips alone!  That's a first at our house.

I am going on a work trip to Cuba tomorrow and won't be posting for the next 10 days or so.  I hope to make my first art journal from this trip and look forward to sharing that with all of you.

I have a little quiet time right now, so thought to say thank you to all of you who are so generous with your time and so often leave lovely comments for me. I feel fortunate to have connected with so many talented and thoughtful artists!  Hope spring finds it's way to you soon!

EASTER EVENING!

It's been an unexpectedly hectic month and I haven't posted nearly what I had planned!  Hope you have each had a lovely Easter with some time with family and friends!

ALMOST! LET GO! - A SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT OF OLIVIA

Wow!  it has been a long while since I have done a layout.  These cheery papers, April Showers by Three Bugs In A Rug, were perfect to express the teasing delight on Olivia's face!  The old milnery daisies are my vintage touch and of course if it's from me, there is faux stitching to be found.  I sponged all of the main colours onto the chipboard letters using chalk finish inks and finished those off with a light blue Stickles.  I like the rainbow effect :)

EASTER EGGS - DYED WITH SILK TIES (A LA MARTHA S)

Several years ago my daughter Allison spotted the directions for dyeing eggs using old silk ties!  I checked and you can still find the directions at Martha's website if you are interested.  These are mine from several years ago.  The yolks are just starting to rattle LOL

EASTER HANGING - USE A VINTAGE DOILY MAT!

I made this last year actually but it is one of my favorites because of  it's simplicity.  I had picked up a vintage doily hot mat.  It was pretty heavily starched and clean so I left it.  Using one of my own vintage Easter postcards and a lot of glitter, I made a new center piece for it.  Some vintage satin ribbons and an old brooch finish this piece off.

BELLA CREATIONS - THE TRES CHIC CHALLENGE!

The TRES CHIC Challenge is about STYLE!  The direction for April was GRUNGE, using turquoise, black and silver.  Lacee I love you but GRUNGE?   Why don't you come over to Bella Creations and check out the details for yourself!   Here is my Design Team submission, an altered cigar box;

I framed the lid up with black Magic Mesh, strips of painted cardboard and a couple of patterned papers.  My favorite Platinum Stickles on numerous edges for a bit of sparkle!  The picture is one I couldn't resist - see the little girl in the front with her finger in her nose!  I know exactly how that mom felt when she saw the school picture LOL  Now that is a little grungy!

Of course there is an awesome prize of stamps from our challenge sponsor Rogue Redhead Design..
